John Jenkinson

John is the Interim Rail Services Director for TXM Rail, having responsibility for the company’s operations and business strategy. 

Initially joining the company in October 2016 as Pre-Contracts Manager/ Technical Advisor, John boasts an impressive 46-year career in the Rail and Civil Engineering Industry, both in the UK and abroad.

John started his career as an Engineer for Henry Boot Civil Engineering, before progressing to Site Agent, Production Manager and Project Manager for Balfour Beatty. John has worked on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects over his career including Manchester Metro Link (the first modern electrified LRT system in the UK) and the South Yorkshire Supertram System.

Following a successful project management and engineering career, John progressed as a Production Manager for Balfour Beatty overseas on the Hong Kong Lantau and Airport Overhead line Electrified Railway Contract and the Oresund Tunnel Electrified Trackwork Contract in Denmark.    

In 2001 John returned to the UK where he undertook the role of UK Operations Manager/Permanent Way Head of Track Projects.  He successfully delivered in this role for 11 years before accepting the position of Rail Services Vice President in Toronto, Canada.    

John is an innovator by nature; keen to meet challenges head on, ensuring his team achieve their goals of delivering projects on time and to budget.
