The benefit of this to the client’s infrastructure services team included a reduction to their workload, as well as creating an environment where the service provider would be proactive and reduce any downtime/response time for future problems that arose. TXM Rail focused on improving efficiency by implementing brand new asset management software tailored specifically to the client’s needs. This innovative solution formed a large part of TXM Rail’s successful proposal. The software, called Maximo, will increase the efficiency of the inspection and maintenance operations, and optimise the total life-cycle cost of the entire rail infrastructure assets without compromising safety or environmental issues and to give a catalogued register of all assets, ensuring that both condition and age are closely monitored in a controlled manner.
One of TXM Rail’s key focus’ for this contract is to consolidate best practice maintenance into a single set of routine measures for use at the depot to create a legacy for future rail infrastructure inspection, maintenance and repair regimes, fit for the long-term needs of the Eurostar International Limited depot operations.
