One of the key objectives within our Journey to Zero initiative is to leave behind a positive, lasting legacy of TXM – whether this is from our project activities, offices or national depots.
In line with this vision, the TXM Rail team based at our Barlborough Offices engaged with their local primary school to deliver a career day and railway safety presentation to year 5 and 6, some of who will be starting at comprehensive school in September.
Mike Torrington, Sean Dunphy and Craig Shaw attended for TXM where they covered various topics including:
- An introduction to TXM Rail
- Railway Safety Quiz
- Overview of Project Management, SHEQ and Engineering in railway construction
- Discussions on the various career/ educational paths
- General question and answer session
In addition to the above, TXM Rail also donated various books (and audio books) to the school as well as a ‘goody bag’ for all the pupils.
